Sherron O. Sheen

1935 ~ 2023

Sherron Ogaard Sheen of Sandy UT, at the age of 88, went home to her Heavenly Father on 29 October 2023.

We all know that life can be a struggle from birth to the last few days or hours of life.

Sherron struggled her way into this world on 5 June 1935 to her mother Leah Wood Ogaard her father Harry Axel Ogaard and big brother Norman Jay Ogaard. There were grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Around the age of 6 Sherron became a big sister to Kent Harry Ogaard. A short 2 years later, Sherron’s mother Leah lost her struggle with cancer. Later Sherron’s father married Delila Mae Beckstead, so Norman, Sherron and Kent got their bonus Mom, she was there for them until her struggle ended in 1985.

Sherron married Monte Keller in 1952, they had 5 children Dawn Marie, Rebecca Stormy, Monte Keller, Matthew Keller, and Mark Keller. After 35 years, the marriage ended in divorce.

Years later after many struggles she met and married the love of her life Orlynn Sheen on 25 May 1996 in the Provo UT Temple, becoming the bonus Mom to his 4 adult children, and bonus mother-in-law to their spouses, Colette (Steve)Astle; Patricia (Wilson)Hortin; Alisia (Doug)Griffith; Robert Scott (Peggy) Sheen. The 12 years Sherron and Orlynn lived in Salem, UT Sherron said were the happiest of her life. Together they served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Provo Utah Temple, improved on the cabin property in the high Unitas that Sherron had purchased years before. Enjoying the mountains, family outings and each other. After Orlynn went home to his Heavenly Father September 20, 2008 Sherron eventually moved from Salem, living with family in different locations until returning to Sandy, UT for a visit with her brother Kent Ogaard’s family. The visit happily turned into a permanent home. After overcoming many health struggles in her life, Sherron beat breast cancer in her mid-thirties, then suffered with Rheumatoid arthritis for years, then two heart attacks, after one more heart attack. The doctor said she had another heart attack and would need surgery or could go into hospice, Sherron decided on Quality Home Health and Hospice, no more hospitals, or more surgeries. Then the breast cancer returned and nothing more could be done.

Sherron had a strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ, His resurrection, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, it’s doctrines and the principle of eternal marriage. She was finally ready to go to her Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and be reunited with Orlynn and all of her family. Survived by her three sons, Monte (Kathy) Keller, Anton Mark (Wanda) Keller; Robert Scott (Peggy) Sheen; four daughters Becky Keller; Colette (Steve)Astle; Patricia (Wilson)Hortin; Alisia (Doug)Griffith; Sister-in-law and care giver Nieshia Ogaard and many nieces and nephews; grand and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Norman J. Ogaard; Kent H. Ogaard; her husband Orylnn Sheen; and son Matthew Cheyenne Keller; and daughter Dawn Marie (George) Ansley.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Tamara, Lilly, Brenda, Natalie, Jacquelyn and all the employees of Quality Home Health and Hospice, for their kind and loving care of Sherron and to Claudia for her kind aid in Sherron’s last week of life. Also, to the extended family members that were so loving and kind so happy to spend time with Aunt Sherron and to the members of the Eastridge 2nd Ward that welcomed her in, loved and served her and also to Sherron’s ministering lunch sisters their friendship meant a lot to her. Our sweet Sherron, our Salem next door neighbor and friend, will always be remembered for her loving kindness to us. We are sorry that we didn’t know of her passing until today as she made her way back to Salem and to the Salem Cemetery to be with Orlynn. We can watch over her now.
We have the fondest memories of her and Orlynn and the sweet care she took of him.
We loved being her neighbor and her friend.
The nightlight she gave to us when she moved shines a light for us still. She was a lovely, good women ! A gem among gems for those of us who knew and loved her here in Salem.
