Shirley W. Cox returned to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the age of 96, surrounded by family. She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on August 20, 1925 to Everett E. Wright and Ruby I. Christensen Wright. She had three older siblings, Jack E. Wright, Annabelle M. Wright Lutz, and Gordon B. Wright. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After High School Shirley moved to Chicago, Illinois and studied ham radio and worked for the Federal government as a radio operator. She later became a secretary and was able to work at some interesting locations, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah and the Cincinnati Royals basketball team.

Her true passion was for genealogy research, planning trips to the Salt Lake Genealogy Library with her grandchildren. She specialized in Danish research and was able to help many clients and friends find the records needed to advance their family trees.

Shirley loved her grandchildren and was a great influence for them growing up. She was such a generous person that she was always going without for herself to help her family be more comfortable. She had a special friendship with her son-in-law Roger and loved him dearly. Anyone who knew her loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Her daughter Sharon F. Pulsipher, son-in-law Roger W. Pulsipher, “Favorite oldest granddaughter” Kristianna R. Pulsipher, “Favorite grandson” Raymond O. Pulsipher, “favorite youngest granddaughter” Melody Payne (Jeremy Payne) and great grandchildren Levi Pulsipher and Sawyer Pulsipher. She will be deeply missed, but we are all happy that she is now reunited with her family in Heaven.

We are grateful for all of the amazing caregivers and friends who helped take care of Shirley. We welcome anyone to join us at the services and at the Open House. Grave side service and interment will occur in Council Bluffs, Iowa at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
