Our beautiful wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend ended her battle with cancer on the morning of November 16, 2019. Kara Searle Knighton was born to Reed and Kathy Searle on September 30, 1990 and is survived by her husband Alex, siblings Dane, Brant, Lisa, and Mindy, parents-in-law Wendi and Shane (Cathy) Knighton, and many others who will miss her dearly.
Kara was a vibrant, elegant woman who lived and loved life to the fullest. She radiated life. Kara grew up in a large family as the youngest child and made sure she was not forgotten or ignored thanks to her fiery personality. In high school, she was a confident and beautiful young woman who had an insatiable appetite for learning. Kara set high standards for herself and those with whom she associated. She attended Utah State University where she earned a degree in landscape architecture and design. She married Alex Shane Knighton on May 23, 2012 and was sealed for all eternity in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple. Alex and Kara spent an amazing seven years together pursuing their shared passion for life, involving themselves in everything from paintballing to hiking, video games to cooking, and everything in between.
We remember Kara with her bright smile, her mischievous sense of humor, her tenacity, her faith, and her ability to brighten the lives of anyone she encountered.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.
