Edward Louden Norton III, 86, passed away peacefully September 28, 2017. He was born in New York City, NY to Pauline and Edward Louden Norton, Jr. and grew up in New York and Bermuda. Before calling Park City, Utah his home, most of his life was spent as a resident of Greenwich, Connecticut.
Ed is survived by his wife Emily Anne Cremona Norton, wife of 58 years, his daughter Emily Norton Elliott and his son, Edward Louden Norton IV. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Emily Judith Elliott, Mitchell Elliott, Meredith Norton and Edward Louden Norton V. Ed's family was his most prized possession. He cared for each one of them, providing love and support, and placed great significance on providing the means of a good education.
Making people laugh with his infectious and contagious humor, Ed had an outgoing personality. He loved animals of all kinds. He cherished old friends and made new friends wherever he went. As a tenor, he was a member of the Golden Chordsmen in New York, The Saltairs in Utah, and the choir at the Park City Community Church. He simply loved to sing.
Ed was a graduate of the Yale University, class of 1954, where he was an All-American swimmer. The Yale swimming team was undefeated during his time there, and were EISL champions each year. His father and grandfather were both members of the New York Stock Exchange and his grandfather was one of the founding seven members of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of New York.
He served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed at the Panama Canal Zone, and worked at Pepsi Bottling Company where he worked as a finance project manager for over 20 years before retirement.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Ridge in Salt Lake City for the love and care they provided for him.
Memorial services will be held at the Park City Community Churchin Park City onMonday, October 2, 2017 at 11 AM.
Gravesite burial will beWednesday, October 4, 2017 at 2 PM. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Bronx, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be make to Nuzzles and Co in Park City or Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT) of Washington.
