Steven Lee Hudson, born May 29, 1948, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, with his wife, Margarita, at his side; he was 76 years old. He was a loving husband, brother, and uncle to his extended family, who meant so much to him.
Steven Lee Hudson’s parents were Clifford G. Hudson and Zoy Thomander. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, UT, in 1966 and received the Utah Sterling Scholar Award in Electrical Engineering. He went on to attend the University of Utah on a full scholarship.
Steven's early life in Utah instilled a love for nature and helping others. His bright intellect and caring personality were evident to all who knew him. As a young adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, Steven was known for his enthusiasm in guiding Boy Scouts through adventurous camping trips, including a memorable journey along the Alaska Highway. His commitment to mentoring extended beyond scouting, as he also dedicated his time to the Big Brothers of Utah, where he had a profoundly positive impact on the lives of teenage boys.
Steven was a long-time federal employee of NIOSH and OSHA, managing an OSHA office in California before retiring in 2004. Throughout his life, Steven's achievements were many, but he found the greatest joy in his role as a husband to his beloved wife, Margarita, whom he married on December 29, 1978. Together, they created a home filled with love, nurturing a life rich in experiences and shared world travels.
Steven will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by all who had the privilege to know him. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Steven are invited to come together to honor his memory and celebrate his legacy in a Celebration of Life that will be held on June 11, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, UT 84092.
