Steven Scott Turner (60) passed away peacefully at his home in Bluffdale, Utah surrounded by his loving wife and family on July 17, 2023

Steven was born to Melvin Eugene and Verna Rae Cox Turner in Salt Lake City on February 25, 1963, he was the 5th of 6 children. He grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and made numerous childhood memories at his family cabin in Bear Lake and Smith Moorehouse.

Steve married Lisa Lynn Simmons on December 30, 1997. They were later sealed in the Jordan River Temple. Together they raised, loved and were avidly supportive of their 4 children. Steve always made sure his family was making memories together. Whether it be going for joy rides for a Raspberry Shake or boating in Lake Powell.

Steve was an outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, horse riding and being outside. He enjoyed his animals, dogs, cat, donkeys and especially horses.

Steve loved his work and was a very accomplished journeyman plumber. This led him to many jobs throughout his life. He started off working for his dad in the plumbing industry at a very young age and finished out his last days as a chemical engineer at Nalco Chemical. In between he spent many years at IPP, Primary Children’s Medical Center, LDS Church Maintenance and Utility Industrial Compressor.

Later in his life, Steve became known as Daddo. This was one of his greatest treasured accomplishments as this was the name his grandchildren called him. Daddo could always be found supporting his grandchildren in anything they were doing. Whether it be a neighborhood soccer game or driving across the state for a dance competition or rodeo.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Lisa Turner, Children: Danielle (Jake) Gines, Eric (Megan) Turner, Jessica Miller and Tyler Morley, Seven Grandchildren: Austin, Kayela, Madison, Kamryn, Kendall, Hannah and Jaxon. Mother, Verna Robinson, Brothers, Paul Turner, Jeff Turner and Ike Turner, Sister Jhan Lewis.

He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Turner, sister, Kristy Kaye Turner, his grandparents and numerous other family members and friends.

The Turner family would like to extend deep gratitude to the staff of Quality Home Health and Hospice, especially his nurse Tamara and his doctor Jaclyn for the amazing care they provided for Steve.

Funeral services for Steve will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Bluffdale 8th Ward, 15040 South Mountainside Drive in Bluffdale, Utah. A viewing in Steve’s honor will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, from 6-8pm at the Larkin Mortuary - Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton, Utah and again Saturday at the ward prior to services beginning at 10AM.

I only new Steve a little. I painted his horse trailer and invited him to come back with his horse to go riding. I believe he had plans to do just that and I really looked forward to establishing a friendship with him. My loss for sure. My condolences and prayers for Steve’s family. What a nice man. 🙏🏻
