West Jordan, Utah – Our Mother, Wife, Sister, Grandma, Suzanne Kay Morgan passed away in home on Friday, December 10th. She was born on August 10, 1951 to Leslie Boothe and Ilah Mae Allen. She was beautiful, kind, and always looking out for everyone else besides herself. She always had sound advice and loved her family beyond what words can express. She was always up before sunrise to make her kids breakfast and read scriptures as a family. She never hesitated to come home early from work to ensure her kids were able to make it to practices, games, or recitals. She loved getting together with family, and was the glue that kept the family from drifting apart with how busy life can get. Her family and her relationship with Heavenly Father were the two major driving forces for how she lived her life. She always knew she had a loving Heavenly Father who would watch over her and her family.

Suzanne was always a mother at heart. As the oldest child, she had to grow up early to ensure her siblings were always taken care of. As she grew older, but before she had children of her own, she decided to pursue a career in social work and obtained her undergraduate degree from Utah State University. Later in life while raising kids she went on to get her master’s degree in psychology. She spent most of her professional career working for the Utah State Department of Corrections. It didn’t appear to be her passion in life, but she did it to keep food on the table and roof over her family. She always made sure her children never went without and they had every opportunity that could be afforded to her family. In 1982 she married Joseph Gillis and over the span of 7 years had three loving children; Joseph, Edward Michael, and Matthew. Then shortly after that marriage she met her eternal companion, Kent Morgan, and they were married on September 19, 1989 creating a wonderful blended family. Together they had a beautiful daughter Rebecca in 1991 and not long after were all able to be sealed as a couple in June of 1993 in the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity. Both her and Kent created a home where love and faith were ever present. She was also blessed to have the greatest of siblings, Patty (Andregg), Rebecca (Delgado), and Tom (Delgado), who she supported as well as them supporting her, and who she loved dearly.
The last years of her life were filled with family. She loved spending time together with those she loved. She treated each grandchild as a favorite and was always encouraging to be their best selves. She nurtured and cherished each individual relationship with her children and grandchildren, and always provided perspective that everyone is trying their best. She encouraged her children to always keep an open mind and to never quit even when things get hard. Moreover, Suzanne was no stranger to pain herself, especially during the last years of her life although you would never have known it. She rarely complained about her body slowly shutting down, rather she was always asking about others and showed genuine concern for those around her. It is comforting to know she’s finally at peace.

We, as her family, will honor her by living the way she lived, reaching out to those who need encouragement, love, and compassion. She is survived by her children: Edward Michael, Matthew David, Rebecca Winfield; and stepchildren: Nicole Andrea, Tiffany Laele, and Paul Kent. Please come and celebrate her life with us! The viewing will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 3:30 – 5pm, at the Heritage Stake Center (7336 South 3200 West, West Jordan, Ut, 84084) and her memorial service to take place shortly after, 5:30 – 6:30pm at the same location.
