Bonnie Moore

1944 ~ 2020

Surrounded by love and adoration, Bonnie Moore, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2020, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Bonnie was born on March 23, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, to Maurine W. Walton and Gene Dale Bowlin. She grew up in Burbank, CA. At the age of 19, Bonnie moved to Provo, Utah to attend BYU. Bonnie later attended Weber State College where she earned her degree as a registered nurse. She returned to school and earned a B.A. degree. Bonnie was a bright and devoted nurse. She gave of her time and talents to many areas of medicine including labor and delivery, emergency medicine, home health, surgery and wellness clinics. She was the Director of Quality Management at the Bossier City Medical Center and LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bonnie loved to travel. In 1987 Bonnie met and married the love of her life, Donald F. Moore. Together, they lived and traveled all over the United States. They forged long lasting friendships everywhere they went. She and Don loved antiques and searching for them at various auctions and antique shops throughout the South. Bonnie had a keen sense of style and made every home look like a feature from a designer magazine.

Bonnie loved animals and had a tender heart towards any (and every) animal in need. She cherished her dogs Kasey and Sammy. They laid by her side, bringing never ending love, support and protection to her throughout her debilitating disease.

Bonnie loved being a Nana and was so proud of her grandchildren. She was always happy to see them and greet them with a hug and a kiss.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Donald Moore; four children, Scott Kahn (his former spouse, Tayna), Melissa Hansen (Van), Tiffany Kahn and Justin Kahn; and her 6 grandchildren, Jordan Kahn, Britton Kahn, Malorie Kahn, Oakley Hansen, Rhett Hansen and Asher Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Bonnie's loved ones will honor her at a graveside service on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 3:00pm at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City, UT.

Bonnie's family would like to thank Dr. Sean Ponce, who for the last three years, expertly and compassionately provided Bonnie's pain management. They also extend their deepest gratitude to Rocky Mountain Homecare and Hospice for the loving and tender care they offered her in the final weeks of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the University of Utah College of Nursing Scholarship Fund, in her grandson Oakley Hansen's honor. Online donations can be made at: nursing.utah.edu or by phone at ‪801-581-5109‬/801-581-8143.
