Bea Scott Proctor

1925 ~ 2017

Bea Scott Proctor, age 91, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017. She was born on July 12, 1925, in Romance, Missouri to Alfred Allen Scott and Minnie Maybell Adkisson.

She was the youngest of 15 children, 8 brother and 6 sisters. She was very close to her three bothers Harold Lee, Henry and Jim. She has also remained close to her nephews Lee and Dan.

She met Melvin Jay Proctor in 1943, where they were attending a training school on machine gun assembly at Hill Air Force Base. Bea went on to train recruits in the cleaning and mounting of machine guns on war planes.

Bea and Jay were married October 27, 1943 and their marriage lasted for decades with Jay passing just weeks before their 67th wedding anniversary.

Bea and Jay had four children, son; David Lee (Dianne) Proctor, daughters; Kathleen Ann "Cass" Proctor, Candace Jae Winter (Len Werman) and Kelly Sue (Pete) Fondaco.

She practiced accounting and managed the Ute Swim School where she started a program teaching toddlers to swim. Bea then started her own craft/sewing store called "A Very Unusual Place" with her brother Lee. She was highly skilled in crafts and smocking. She was very involved in genealogy and played a mean organ.

Bea had a white furry companion, his name is "Ozzie", whom she adopted from the Humane Society over seven years ago, the two were inseparable and adored each other.

The family lost both Jay and Cass within one short month of each other in 2011.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S.) in Sandy. A viewing will start at 12:00pm prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Bea asked that donations be made to the Utah Humane Society.
