Sandra Helen Kietlinski Lamar

1948 ~ 2014

Sandra Helen Kietlinski Lamar, 66, born January 22, 1948 to Leo Kietlinski and Afton McGhie, died August 5, 2014 at 4:27 a.m. Sandra "Sam" Lamar was surrounded by her family in person and through new technology with our love and blessings. She went home to be with God and those who preceded her in death; her father Leo Kietlinski, her mother Afton McGhie Kietlinski, her brother Blaine Kietlinski, and her sister Kathleen Kietlinski Fox.

Sandra came into the world at the end of World War II born in Tokyo, Japan. Sam's father left this world when Sam was very young so she was raised by her mother, brother, and sister. She met her loving husband Charles Luther "Skip" Lamar and the two were married in American Falls, Idaho on August 21, 1963. They are celebrating 51 years on their way to forever together. They soon gave birth to their first daughter, Dawn Afton Lamar (Mayen) in Salt lake City, Utah and then four years later had another daughter, Stacey Kathleen Lamar (Archuleta).

Sam's pride was in helping her husband serve thirty-four years in the Navy, raise two beautiful daughters who both married and gave Skip and Sam one awesome grandson, Anthony Lamar Mayen, and three beautiful granddaughters, Ashley Dawn Azarow, Rebekka Marie Mayen, and Samantha (Sammy) Elaine Azarow.

We will miss Sam dearly, her "WONDERFUL" soups, casseroles, grandkids birthday cakes and cookies, her enchanting life stories, movie times with all the grandkids in her bed, and infectious laughter. She was a blessing to all but we are thankful she is at rest with the Lord helping to prepare a place for all those she loves that will follow. This comment is made by Skip, her other half:

"What an awesome kid. Although she was 15 when we married I would put her above all women in the way she cared and tended for her family."

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1065 E. 700 S. Friends and family may visit Sunday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and one hour prior to services at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Primary Children\s Hospital in Sandra\s name.
