Craig Marlow Young

1951 ~ 2016

On February 19, 2016 we said goodbye to our husband, father and friend. Craig Marlow Young spent the last minutes of his time on this earth consoling and thanking a room filled with the doctors and nurses who had done their best to save his life for the past few months. His battle ended on his terms and with the same strength and courage for which he was known.

Craig was born April 2, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Marlow and LouJean Young. He has two sisters Lynette Rasmussen and Michelle Armsfield. He graduated from Bountiful High School, where he participated in football, baseball and basketball. He went on to graduate from the University of Utah School of Engineering. Craig had a brilliant mind. He was one of the most intelligent and creative mathematicians and engineers. Craig had many wonderful friends and coworkers and for the past 17 years had been working for I.C.P.E.

Craig found his calling in life as a mentor and coach. He served as an example and guide to numerous young men as both scout master and baseball coach. He was a master fly fisherman and an avid outdoorsman. There was nothing this man couldn't do. His influence is felt by many with whom he shared his passion and expertise.

Craig's greatest calling and joy in life was his 8 children: Tiffany (Mike) Matthews, Matt (Jenn Scott) Young, Natalie (Chad) Simons, Brynn (JR) Bell, Brandon (Jessica) Carter, Keetly (Adam) Brinkerhoff, Amberly (Bo) Williams and Taylor (Lexy Swaffer) Carter and his 18 grandchildren: Logan, Peyton, Carter, Adam, Zach, Audrie, Cameryn, Jordyn, Ethan, Haley, Carson, McKay, Summer, Sam, Lizzy, Joey, Cole and Bennett. He made us laugh and he made us smile. He guided many of us on wonderful adventures. His greatest adventure, however, began 18 years ago when he found the love of his life Kerry Young. We will forever be grateful for the way Kerry cared for and loved our father. She was by his side right up until the very end. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched. We know he is still with us and will always be.

Until we see you again . . .
