Rayola Burdette Johnson Beeny

1923 ~ 2013

Our beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma passed away suddenly on Sept. 19, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 6, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Benjamin and Frances Johnson. On Oct. 3, 1941 she married her high school sweetheart, Oris "O.L." Beeny. Together they owned and operated the Poor Boy Café and Sun Bakery from the early 50's to the early 70's.

Mom had a loving spirit of service, and had a great love for her animals. She was an avid gardener and found great joy in caring for her yard, which is immaculate, and was working in it even up to the day prior to her passing. She was very creative and a talented artist.

Mom is survived by her sons, Michael (Claudia) Beeny of Cove, Utah, Dennis (Paulette) Beeny of Sandy, Utah; daughters, Christie (Gary) Denhalter of Ferron, Utah and Diane (Paul) Brinkerhoff of Orangeville, Utah; Also by 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband O.L., her siblings and her adored grandson, Kelly Beeny.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing for Rayola on Monday , September 23, 2013 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary and Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.
