Jeffrey L. Brueningsen

Jeffrey L. Brueningsen, age 64, of Park City, UT. Jeff was the son of Richard E. and Audrey (Unangst) Brueningsen of Bethlehem, PA. Jeff was born in Ft. Eustis, VA near Newport News, VA and was raised in Bethlehem. Jeff graduated from Liberty High School, Class of 1972, where he was a member of the Liberty High School Grenadier Band. Jeff was a lifelong skier, having helped establish the Ski Club in high school.

He was a commercial hot air balloon pilot for almost 30 years, with 17 years as owner of Touch The Sky Hot Air Balloons in the Lehigh Valley, PA and as a pilot with a Park City, UT company.

Jeff was a fill-in, substitute training partner (brakeman) for 4 different 2 man bobsled teams in the 3 year run up to the Salt Lake City Olympics.

He traveled extensively, visiting all 50 statesand 23 countries. In 2009, he achieved a personal goal of skiing on all 7 continents.

Jeff was active as a member of the Intermountain chapter of the Porsche Club of America and the Park City Car Club. Racing his Porsche 944 in 2010, Jeff earned the distinction of achieving 158 MPH to become a member of the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association at Bonneville 150 MPH Club.

Jeff was employed at The Lodge at Deer Valley.

Jeff is survived by brother Gary R. Brueningsen and wife Sandra of Winter Garden, FL, aunt Louise (Unangst) Moyer of Bethlehem, and nephews Eric R. and Alex R. Brueningsen of Winter Garden.

A gathering to honor Jeff will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South.
