Carol Hollis Stringfellow, our sweet mother, passed away on November 5, 2014. Carol was born on June 2, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elby and Marie Hollis. She graduated from East High School and thereafter married her love, Burton R Stringfellow in the Salt Lake Temple. They met at a lunch counter while ordering dessert, soda cracker pie.
While mom had many talents and accomplishments her greatest attribute was in showing kindness and love to all. This charity for others defined all relationships she enjoyed throughout her life. As such, she will be greatly missed, and her example and love will never be forgotten.
Mom, thank you for all you have done for us, we love you! May you dance among the stars with dad. You two are the best.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tom, and husband, Burton. She is survived by her sister, Connie, children: Cory (Jen), Xantha (Dave), and Justin (April); ten grandchildren: Madi, Isaiah, Brooklyn, Caroline, Eliza, Zeke, Luke, and Sicily Stringfellow, and Jefferson and Brody Furlong; Natalia and Audrey Simpson, and best friend Pat.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at the LDS chapel located at 668 Second Ave., SLC, UT with a viewing 1 hour prior and on Friday, November 7th from 6-8 PM at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC, UT.
