James Marlo Verde

1939 ~ 2019

James Marlo Verde passed away peacefully in his home in Sandy, Utah on Wednesday September 18, 2019. Born to John Melvin Verde and Ethel Johnson Verde In Salt Lake City, Utah on November 7,1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim's wife of 56 years, Joy Dean Verde, proceeded him in death on October 28, 2017. Jim grew up in Sugarhouse, he went to South High School. Jim and Joy were married on May 25, 1961 and shared a wonderful long marriage and are now reunited again. He had a love of race cars, and mechanics, he also dabbled in wood working and made furniture for friends and family to enjoy. He worked for Hercules Aerospace Company (Magna, Utah) and then went on to work for Cummins Intermountain Thermo King (Salt Lake City, Utah) where he was a diesel mechanic which became his career for many years until he retired at the age of 68.

He had quite the sense of humor up to his last breath. He loved to make people laugh and he was so giving. He always made sure everyone was doing okay and would always step in to help anyone in need. He had so many long-time friendships in his neighborhood and ward where he served in the Bishopric and many other callings through the years. He touched so many hearts in his lifetime and will be missed by many.

Survived by Chuck Verde (Brother) and Bonnie Sholes (Sister). Survived by his 4 Children; Jill, Kim, Eric, Tony. He was truly blessed with 10 grandkids and 6 great grandkids which he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 25, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Fairoaks Ward, 586 E. 8400 So., Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday September 24, 2019 from 6pm-8pm at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 So.) and Wednesday at the Ward beginning at 10:00 a.m.
