Taina Lanu-Ki-Ha’apai Mailau, age 87 passed away at her daughter’s home in Gardena, California on March 3, 2023. She was born on September 23, 1935 in Uiha, Tonga to Tevita Vaikona and Mele Tafuna. She married Setaleki Fa’uhiva Mailau in Uiha Ha’apai, Tonga.
Taina is survived by her children: Teliana Sekona, Paula Mailau, Lotomo'ua Vakauta, Losina Moeaki, Lose Wolfgramm, Sini Ahloo, and Mele Fifita. Preceded in death by her husband Setaleki Fa’uhiva Mailau.
Funeral services will be on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga located at 57 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from the hours of 6:00 – 11:00 pm and Monday from 8:00 – 11:00 am prior to the funeral. All services will be held at the church. Interment to follow the funeral at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah.
