Born on December 27, 1947 to Elizabeth Poulton (Betty, Pat) and Robert Elison (Bob), Tana was known to all as a lover of animals, especially cats, and a kind soul. She lived in Salt Lake City her entire life but traveled extensively with her grandmother, Jennie Poulton.

Tana loved the sciences and received her BS in biology at the University of Utah. She later returned to further her education with a master’s in social work. She was a natural with numbers and always a quick learner with new and intricate concepts.

Being an avid fan of sports, Tana attended many U of U football games with her father, as well as fishing from their boat and camping. Other loves of Tana’s included traveling, reading, exploring new places, and as everyone who knew her, chocolate.

Tana has been preceded in death by both her parents and grandmother, as well as aunt and uncle (Mitzi and Arlo Bailey). She is survived by her cousins, Thayer (Tom) Miller, Paris (Tom) Bottman, and Capri Bailey. The children in our family were always a great source of love for Tana, for which she loved to shop for each holiday season. We will all miss her smiles and generosity.

Tana was buried at the Salt Lake City Cemetery April 18, 2023 next to her parents and grandmother and is privately mourned by her family and friends.
