Viewing Prior to Service
Peruvian Park Ward, 1500 E 8600 S, Sandy, UtahFriday Apr 19, 2024 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM
Terry D Behunin was born in Carbon County Utah in 1947 to Ivanho and Ruby Behunin. He passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2024 at the age of 76 surrounded by family.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents Ivanho and Ruby Behunin. Sisters Connie and Iva Jane.
He is survived by his wife Derinda Behunin and his 8 children. Brian Behunin, Scott (Laura) Behunin, Justin Behunin, Travis Behunin, Rebecca Garvey, Timothy Behunin, Crystal Behunin, and Brittnie (Brandon) Bruin. 11 Grandchildren - Victoria, Janessa, Isabelle, Alleigh, Cyilie, Ethan, Claira, Liam, Lincoln, Scarlett, Chloé, 2 Sisters - Betty (Gerald) Owen and Sandra Behunin.
Terry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He married in the Salt Lake Temple in 1970 to the love of his life Derinda Mardell. He held several callings in the church including Sunday School President, Home Teacher and the Stake Genealogist.
Terry was a man that accomplished many things during his life. He served honorably in the US Army and continued his service to the government as a civilian employee at Hill Field Air Force Base. He was a dedicated family man that loved his children and completely adored all of his Grandchildren. When he was able he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. His favorite vacation spot was Zion National Park, which is steeped richly in his family history, which was one of his many passions.
Terry had the gift of gab and could talk to anyone. He loved spending hours sharing his stories to any who would listen. He was the rock for many people, his children especially, he was dedicated to them to a fault. He opened new worlds for his children whether it be the beauty of Audiobooks or simply talking about new recipes and trying them out. Yes, Terry, there is an APP for that. Need a tool? He probably had four or five of them, so rest assured there would be one to borrow.
Most of all he will be missed by his loving wife, whom he loved dearly. It is fair to say that he will be missed by many. In the days preceding his death he was asked what he wanted for his upcoming birthday, he said new legs, now he has wings.
Funeral Services will be held Friday April 19, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Peruvian Park Ward located at 1500 E 8600 S in Sandy. A viewing will be held Thursday April 18, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the church as well. A short viewing will be held from 12:00-1245 pm the day of the service.

So sorry for your loss, but now he’s is fishing and hunting with my dad.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys! Terry was our home teacher for many years, more dedicated than most! He was a great guy and neighbor!. I’m glad we had a chance to get to know him, and all of you! Definitely a happy part of our memories of our Sandy Hills neighborhood.
Dear Cousin,
I'll miss our phone visits. I'll miss the laughter. I'll miss sharing fish stories, talking about gardening and how much we both like sunflowers.
I've planted a new little sunflower garden here, just for you.
You're a dear friend, Terry.
I'll see you on the other side.
Much love,
Your cousin,
Lori
