Barbara Jean Black passed away February 26, 2016. Barbie entered this life on August 1, 1972. She was always full of energy and enthusiasm, which she carried with her throughout life. Barbie was born to James Arch and Carma Deloney Black on a stormy Saturday morning. Her childhood was spent enjoying trips to Lake Powell with family and friends. Barbie was always the center of fun. She enjoyed games, athletics and especially playing pranks on whomever and wherever she found an opportunity. Even at a young age Barbara was always looking out for other children and kids always gravitated towards her.

She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah in early childhood development and psychology. She served a mission for the LDS Church in California. Barbie always had a passion for young minds and always nurturing them to be the best people they can be. She has touched thousands of lives for the better. She was highly sought after for her expertise in child development. Her expertise in childhood development was essential in pioneering several programs in the state of Utah.

Her love of family was all encompassing. She took special care of her loving parents, her sister Allison through her battle with cancer along with her many nieces and nephews. If Barbara was not working her time was always devoted to the ones she loved and their wellbeing. To be around Barbara was always an entertaining experience. Barbara was always giving others experiences and opportunities to enjoy life and expand their horizons. She single handily introduced everyone she met to the Back Street Boys. She attended concerts all over, even cruising with the BSB three times.

Barbie is survived by her parents, Jim and Carma Black; her brothers Tony (Liesl), Bret; brother-in-law Justin Hutchinson, grandmother Alma Deloney; uncles Rich, Charles and Leonard; Aunt Florence Romney; and nephews, Kasey, Konrad, Mitchell, and Pierce; and nieces, Megan, Hali, Ainsley and Nikole.

Funeral Service will be held March 5, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Holladay Fifth Ward, 3070 East Nila Way (4140 South), Salt Lake. Friends and family may call at the ward Friday evening March 4, from 6 ‚ 8 pm and also Saturday at 10:30 ‚ 11:40 a.m., prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
