Thelma Ann Kirkwood Larson, Age 83, passed away in the early morning on July 19th, 2021 from natural causes. She was born November 7th, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William and Barbara Kirkwood. The late Reed T. Larson and Thelma were married February 27th, 1969.
Thelma always surrounded herself by her family and friends. She was very loyal to her loved ones and would give you anything, rarely thinking of herself first. Thelma had a love for baking. Her hands were always making something delicious for others to enjoy. She had a knack for banana and zucchini breads.
For many years, Thelma worked at the West Jordan Care Center and the Life Skills Vocational Center in Salt Lake City. Thelma enjoyed serving others and providing good quality of life for the residents she worked with.
Thelma is survived by her three sons, Thomas Larson, Reed (Suze) Larson and David (Stephanie) Larson; her brother Larry (Diane) Kirkwood, and her sisters Pat Jansen and Betty Kline; her two grandchildren, Toni (McKenzie) Larson, Taylor (Scott) Jones; and her seven great grandchildren, Ryker, OakLee, Austyn, Taytim, Eli, Alex and RockLynn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara Kirkwood, her brother Jack Kirkwood and sisters, Margie Kirkwood, Sandra Kirkwood, Linda Manhard and her grandson, Kevin Larson.
Please join us in celebrating Thelma’s life Thursday morning, July 29th, 2021. The viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple SLC, UT 84111, starting at 10 am followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11am. Thelma will be laid to rest at the Salt Lake City Cemetery next to her sister Sandra Kirkwood.
