Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away in his home Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from complications due to Lewy Body Dementia.

Stan was born in Teasdale, Utah on December 29, 1932, to Ralph Ramsay Baker and Grace Heaps. He was number six of seven children. In his early years, he attended school in a one-room schoolhouse. We all loved to hear the stories of the antics that he got into, and sometimes we wondered how he survived. He later attended Wayne High School where he was on the basketball and baseball teams.

On November 24, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Reah Albrecht, in the Manti Utah Temple. Soon after, he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He spent most of his time serving in Germany. After his discharge, he was finally able to meet his son who was already 18 months old. Stan and Reah moved into their home in Murray in 1957 where they raised their five children.

Stan always loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hunting. He passed this love down to all of his children. He worked hard his whole life and was always the one to show up and help with any project. For his career, he installed sprinkler systems and then worked at Wheeler Farm as the lead farmer. He loved teaching all his grandchildren how to milk cows and gather eggs. They all called Wheeler Farm “Grandpa’s Farm,” and it was a favorite place to visit.

Stan served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served in the Bishopric, as the High Priest Group Leader, and in many other callings. One of his favorite callings was when he served in the nursery. Stan and Reah served a mission at Martin’s Cove in Wyoming. They were both temple workers and later attended the temple twice weekly.

Stan loved his family and taught all of us the importance of a close family. The only time he took off work would be to attend the yearly family reunions at Maple Grove and at Boulder Mountain. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the annual deer hunt were also important family events.
Stan is survived by his wife Reah, five children Stanley Junior (Carylee) Baker, Bonnie (Stephen) Healy, Roger (Linda) Baker, Linda (Mark) Brown, Joyce (George) Hamer, 21 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and one brother Garth Baker

He was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings Alfred Baker, Erma Kelley, Heaps Baker, Junior Baker, Dale Baker, and grandson Chad Healy.
He will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held at the Hillcrest Ward building 5600 South 495 East, Murray, Utah on Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 pm and again on Friday, August 18, 2023, from 9:45-10:30 am. The funeral service will be held at the Hillcrest Ward building 5600 South 495 East, Murray, Utah on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11:00 am.

I send my love and condolences to you Reah ,and your family. I know you will feel the peace and love of our Savior Jesus Christ that He gives us during these times, just as I did many years ago. I hope you have many good memories to enjoy now. Memories always remain. I have so many special, fun memories of our many visits to Fremont to see our cousins.
