Margene Raynaud

1935 ~ 2018

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Margene Raynaud on December 26, 2018. She has gone home, basking in the glorious light of our Heavenly Father. Waiting for her in heaven are her parents, Hugh and Mildred Hyde, her sister Carol Landaal, and her beloved husband Donald Raynaud. She is survived by her brother Howard Hyde. Margene was born in Salt Lake City in 1935. She met her future husband while both were attending BYU. After they married they moved to the Los Angeles area to start their life together. She and Donald had four children: Bradley, Kathleen, Thomas, and Douglas. She had 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren

Her husband passed suddenly in 1969, and so Margene returned to college and became a high school teacher. She later went on to earn a Master\s Degree. She remained in that profession until her retirement in 1997. In 2007 Margene moved back to Utah to be near her daughter and extended family.

Margene was a devoted Latter Day Saint and held many positions in her wards. She was a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple. She was a very creative woman who loved to sew, knit and crochet, make clothes, drapes for our house, decorative cards, and unique shadow boxes.

Margene was also gifted with the adventurous and outdoor spirit of her ancestors. Our family spent many fun and relaxing trips at the beaches and mountains of California, and the emerald green waters of Lake Powell. We always looked forward with anticipation to these family trips. She was always willing to include extended family members to enjoy our adventures.

Margene was a woman of great strength and courage, and was the pillar of our family. She single handedly raised 4 children when left widowed at 33. We never wanted for anything, and because of her strength, we were unaware of how difficult this must have been for her.

She deeply valued her friendships, and she will be sorely missed by all. We love you Mom
