Gordon P. Larsen passed away peacefully August 28, 2018 in his Salt Lake City home. He was a WWII fighter pilot then immediately served an LDS mission in Argentina. Gordon Larsen and Ramona Symes were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 20, 1950. They actively served in the LDS church as missionaries in Scotland and the Family History Center. He also served as a bishop and devoted 35 years to United Airlines as a pilot.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, four daughters: Nancy Larsen, Nylene (Mathew) Bracken, Terri (Ronald) Taylor, and Ramona DeAnn Best, 19 grandchildren, and so far, 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother; Robert Boyes Larsen, his twin; Garth Boyes Larsen, and his children; Susan Marie Larsen and David Gordon Larsen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m with a short viewing from 9:00-9:45 a.m at the LDS chapel on 420 South 800 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m at Larkin Mortuary on 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment at Historic Holladay Memorial Park Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
