Tracy Tsui Hua Doong

1962 ~ 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tracy Tsui Hua Doong, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly surrounded by her loved ones. Tracy was born September 9th to Shieh-Chieh and Dah Lee in Taipei, Taiwan. She was the eldest of three children. At the age of 14, she immigrated to the United States with her family. They initially lived in Los Angeles, California, and then moved to Ogden, Utah where she graduated from Ogden High School.

While attending the University of Utah, she met the love of her life, James Doong, and for the past 40 years, they were inseparable. Together they shared three beautiful children, traveled the world, owned businesses together, and had many dreams and aspirations.
She spent much of her professional career in the Commercial Real Estate industry and through the years was well-respected. At a community level, she advocated for women, minorities, and small businesses. Because it was so easy to connect with Tracy, many clients and colleagues became close friends of hers throughout the years.

Although she spent much of her career in real estate, her true passion was food, and she was a true foodie at heart. She was raised in the restaurant industry and acquired a refined palate and had a knack for knowing the best restaurant to go to. She loved trying out new restaurants with her family, and being the Momma Bear she was, she would take charge and order for the entire group and ensure everyone was taken care of.

It was hard not to love Tracy, she was full of life and loved being surrounded by friends and family. Her love was altruistic and unconditional. Above everything, she cherished her family and loved spending every minute with her grandchildren; they were her true joy. She made sure she was present at all dance recitals, recreational games, spelling bees, school events, and birthday parties. As everyone’s greatest supporter, she never missed an opportunity to let her family know that she was always thinking of them and how much she loved them. She is truly missed and loved.

She is survived by her husband James, and her three children: Allen (Wendy), Julie (Thad Phillips), and Michelle. As well as six grandchildren: Tyler, Sydney, Josie, Chelsea, Rhett, and one on the way. Her mother Shieh-Chieh, her two brothers Shou Chen (Kim) Lee and George (Katie) Lee, brother-in-law Wen (Jane) Doong, nieces, nephew, and many friends will miss her dearly.

Please join the family Friday, June 24th to celebrate the extraordinary life of Tracy. Viewing from 9:00 am-10:30 am and services to follow at 11:00 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah (1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092)

We are so heartbroken over Tracy's passing. She was a loyal friend and a cherished business partner. Tracy formed instant bonds of friendship with all who knew her. She was always the first to acknowledge a special day in someone's life with a congratulatory phone call or a thoughtful gift. She treated everyone with genuine kindness. She approached life with optimism and never lost her sense of humor. First and foremost, though, she was incredibly proud of her dear family and showed her deep love for them in both words and actions through her dedicated involvement in their lives. Tracy's passing leaves an empty void for so many of us, most of all for her treasured family, and she will be greatly missed by all. Our deepest condolences go out to the Doong Family during this painful time.
With much love, Clark and Holly Chamberlain

My heart is full thinking of the experiences I shared with Tracy. At a Deer Valley concert where she looked out for everyone and was at her mama bear best. At an axe throwing outing where she showed how much power was packed into her tiny frame. At Michelle’s birthday where she out danced us all. Tracy will be dearly missed. Condolences to the family and a hope that the joyful memories will provide comfort during this difficult time. With love - Kami Taylor
