Tye Griffin Larson

1967 ~ 2023

In Loving Memory of Tye Griffin Larson

Tye Griffin Larson took his final breath on December 15, 2023. He passed away in the comfort of his home with his girlfriend, mother and step-father by his side after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.

Tye was born to Linda L. Johnson and the late Garold Griffin Larson on August 10, 1967. He was preceded in death by his father “Griff” and his grandparents Garold G. “Peck” & Darlene Downing Larson and Myron J. & Wanda Maurine Thomas Bosh.

He is survived by the love of his life, Christie Carter, with whom he shared a bond that transcended time. Tye would often express his deep affection, saying, “I needed ya, I got ya, I’m keepin’ ya, Love ya. I love you to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond forever and ever.”

His loving spirit extends to his mother Linda L. Johnson and step-father Dennis L. Johnson, his sister Tammy L. Meyer (Bryon), step-sisters Monica Nevenner (Todd) and Amy Hallett (Jonathan) and his daughters Ashton M. Larson (Jared), Courtney M. Larson (Peyton) and step-
son Kaden Carter. Tye was also a loving companion to his kitty, Ember.

Professionally, Tye was the proud owner of Griffin Communications, a successful telecommunications company. Fondly known as “The Phone Man”, Tye’s contributions to the industry were marked by innovation, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.

Tye found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. A passionate angler, he would escape to streams and lakes whenever the opportunity arose, seeking the thrill of the catch and the peace of nature. The winter months held a special place in his heart as he enjoyed skiing and snowboarding with his friends and family. If he wasn’t on the stream or on the mountain, he could be found on the golf course with his friends.

As we bid farewell to Tye, we find comfort in the belief that he is now with his father and grandfather casting lines and chasing the ones that got away in the heavenly streams. Tye’s memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family expresses deep gratitude to Jayne from IHC Hospice in Heber and to Tye’s step-dad Dennis for their compassion and care during his final days.

Friends and family may call Wednesday December 27, 2023 from 12:00 to 2:00 at Larkin (1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd, Sandy).
