Megan Rose Sylvester

1984 ~ 2015

Megan passed away suddenly on Friday, September 4, 2015. She was a beautiful soul that was full of life, love, and laughter. All of her family and circle of close friends knew her to always brighten every room that she entered. Megan will be greatly missed.

Megan Rose Sylvester, daughter of Shelly Ann Williams (Sylvester) was born July 6, 1984 in Salt Lake City, UT. She graduated from Copper Hills High School in West Jordan in 2002 and she spent many joyful childhood years surrounded by her cousins and family at her grandparents' house in Summit Park. Megan was incredibly proud of her daughter, Julia. She would often say that Julia was the one thing she did perfectly right.

A friend to so many, she truly loved life and positively impacted the lives of all that she knew. Megan had an incredible sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. It was impossible to have a bad day or feel down around Megan ‚ she would always go out of her way to make others feel loved and welcomed. Megan cherished her friends and family and always loved unconditionally.

Megan had the biggest heart and found her passion and true calling caring for those less fortunate. She held many positions caring for children with special needs, and patients with traumatic brain injuries. She was a very bright light in the lives of all that she touched. She also had a great interest in the paranormal and had the opportunity to do real life ghost hunting with a group in Utah. Megan had a passionate for music and could not get enough of Gwen Stefani and her favorite, the beautiful Lady Gaga. She was always prepared to argue why Lady Gaga is better and more talented than anyone else.

Megan is survived by her loving family: her daughter, Julia Ryan Lewis and mother, Shelly Ann Williams (George), Hesperia, CA; Grandfather, Ralph Sylvester (St. George), her aunts and uncles: Shauna Finley (Marc), Sandy, UT; Scott Sylvester (Ximena) Park City, UT; Suzie Porter (Jason) Worcester, MA; Stan Sylvester (Tara) Park City, UT; and cousins, Kassie, Tyler, Madison, Nicholas, Brooke, Ty, Ashton, Blake. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Bobbie Sylvester, and her dear cousin Ryan Sylvester.

A celebration of Megan's life and love will be held on Friday, September 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Sugar House Park, Fabian Lakeside Pavilion (located near the pond and the sleigh-riding hill).

Her family would like to thank all of her dear friends who have shared memories and condolences on Facebook and reached out directly. Megan's lasting wish would be for all of us to be happy, to laugh, and to always be kind to each other.
