Gay Rasmussen Rokich

1933 ~ 2020

Gay Rasmussen Rokich was born January 26, 1933 in Fountain Green, Utah to Ken D. and Bessie A. Rasmussen. Nature took its course and she passed away peacefully on March 15, 2020.

She was born in Fountain Green, Utah and despite her Grandpa Rob\s wishes moved to Garfield at a young age. Her fondest memory was the summers she spent at the Garfield swimming pool. Gay was always a hardworking individual and determined to achieve her goals and aspirations. In her youth, she worked at the local soda shop in order to earn enough money to buy a Jantzen sweater and Joyce shoes. This determination continued and she then went on to own one of her favorite homes in Magna. She was fiercely independent and was proud of all her accomplishments.

Here\s a note she wrote for her Cyprus high school reunion: Employee at Arentz Mining Engineers, Republican Party Voting District Chairman, 1986 state convention delegate. Noteworthy event: \"Doing my best to stimulate the economy by distributing my paychecks each month between the various department stores and shops in the downtown malls.\"

Along with shopping, Gay also enjoyed astrology. You could often find Gay sitting on her front porch of her east bench home staring at her mountains and enjoying a popsicle.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ken D. and Bessie A. Rasmussen, her brother Edgel Rasmussen and niece Janice Jensen. Gay is survived by her Nephew Jeff (Debra) Rasmussen, Great Nephew Dallin Rasmussen, Great Niece Paige (Tom) Jacobson, Great Great Nephew Cooper Jacobson, Sister Susan (Dave) Amidon, Brother Phil (Lois) Rasmussen and family.

There will be a graveside service Friday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. At Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.

We would like to thank the people of The Ridge Foothill for giving her special attention and care. We would also like to thank Canyon Home Health and Hospice for caring for her with dignity and compassion.
