Bradley Jones Carlson

1948 ~ 2020

Bradley Jones Carlson, born on April 2, 1948 passed away in the afternoon of February 3, 2020 of heart failure. Middle child of Maurene Carlson-Sargent and Glen A. Carlson (deceased). He is survived and will be sorely missed by his wife of nearly two decades Beth Carlson; his two sons Adam (Andrea) and Brady (Emily) Carlson; his daughters Ashley Knight (Matt) and Danielle Vondrak (Aaron); his brothers Ron and Brent Carlson; his sister Shauna Baldonado; and his 10 grandchildren Andrew, Avery, Brendon, Christian, Claire, Finn, Joshua, Kamryn, Lucy and Megan.

Brad enjoyed the basics in life. He passionately adored his wife and the moments that they shared, eating good food that he made and enjoying the company of his children, grandchildren and friends. Brad was a hard worker, a trait that he instilled in his children, but was also a big kid at heart. Whether he was having a poor victim pull his finger, telling embarrassing stories or cheating at cards, Brad liked to have fun and had a silly sense of humor. A master in the kitchen and a regular handyman outside of it, Brad was skilled as a chef, carpenter and electrician. He was also a proud veteran of the US Army and served his country in Vietnam and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

As a father and grandfather, Brad was able to bond and cherish his children and grandchildren in unique ways. Whether that was working side by side, teaching life skills, seeing movies, swimming or just spending an afternoon together he touched all of their lives in a special way.

As a husband Brad loved making fancy dinners for two, vacationing to exciting places and sitting by the pool enjoying the company of his favorite person.

His last days were spent doing what he loved - spending time with his wife, buying jelly beans for his granddaughter's birthday, making his delicious cocktail sauce and counting the winnings in his pocket from the blackjack table.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, February 25 from 11am to 2pm at Lone Peak Park Indoor Pavilion located at 10140 South 700 East in Sandy.
