Virgil Allan Nelson

1927 ~ 2015

Virgil Allan Nelson the youngest and eight children born to Samuel Eberious Nelson and Amelia Mary Taresh Nelson Seip. Born in Spooner, Minnesota on December 30, 1927, seventeen days after his father died of injuries from a hunting accident. Virgil past away and was united with his mother Amelia and Samuel the father he never knew January 24, 2015

Virgil grew up in the Baudette, Minnesota and often spoke fondly of his life and cherished memories in Minnesota . Virgil moved to Salt Lake City With Amelia and her second husband Henry Seip. That\s where he was called up to serve in the Army in WWll.

After the war Virgil met and married his sweetheart Arlene Ann Lund on June 22, 1949. In 2014 they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family and friends at our Nelson family reunion their home in Mountain Home, Utah.

Virgil was quick to learn and provided well for his growing family his talents served him well at Allen E. Brockbank Construction, Mountain Fuel Supply Gas Company, Holland Equipment and Interior Space Systems.

He loved spending time with family and friends in the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars, building houses and any other handy man chores. He passed his talents on to all his children and grandchildren.

During his last several years, he was fond of watching the deer and rabbits in the back yard and the beautiful mountain scenery. Above all else he cherished his family and proud of all of them. He loved everyone getting together at the annual family reunion at Mountain Home Utah.

They had 6 children Danny (Linda), Randy (Bonnie), Wally (Kathy), Earl (Debra) Nelson, Candy (David) Doud and Virgil LeRoy Nelson, 27 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, children and brother Elmer Nelson and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by parents 2 brothers and 4 sisters

Friends may call Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens,1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy Utah. Services will be held at the mortuary on Friday January 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to funeral.
