Karl Rey Gillette

1935 ~ 2014

This be the verse you grave for me.

\"Here he lies where he longed to be,

Home is the Sailor, home from sea,

And the Hunter home from the hill\"

..................... Robert Louis Stevenson

Karl loved poetry, and especially the writings of Robert Louis Stevenson. He was called \home\ (Friday, Dec. 19) after a short but courageous battle with advanced Pancreatic Cancer at age 79. He was born October 15, 1935 in Provo Utah to Glen L. and Melba Pratt Gillette, and attended West High School, and the University of Utah and re he earned a B.S. degree in Journalism (1958) and an M.S. degree in Management (1966) from the University of Utah Graduate School of Business.

Karl married Joan Husberg, the love of his life, August 12, 1966 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. S. Dilworth, Young, Karl\s Uncle, performed the ceremony. They recently celebrated their 47th anniversary. Karl and Joan were blessed with a Son, Gregory (deceased) and daughter, Eileen. He is survived by his spouse, Joan, his daughter, Eileen (Eric), grandson, Dominic, brother, Jared (DeAnna) and sisters Kathleen and Arlene (Tony) and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
