Francis Edwin Webb

1925 ~ 2017

Francis Edwin Webb passed away peacefully at the age of 91 in the presence of his family. He was born in Evanston, Wyoming, April 12, 1925 to Richard Smith Webb and Frances Fischer Webb.

Francis (Bob) attended West High School in Salt Lake City before joining the Marine Corps in 1942 at the age of seventeen. He was a corporal while serving in the USMC 6th Artillery Division in the Solomon Islands. After returning, on June 28, 1947 he married the love of his life, Katherine Stamos Webb. Later they renewed their vows in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Salt Lake City where at that time he became a member of the Greek Orthodox faith.

Francis and Katherine enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, traveling and had fun golfing together. They were inseparable. But, most of all, they loved being with their family.

Francis (Bob) worked as an electrician at Diamond Electric in Salt Lake City for over 50 years. He was very well known and liked throughout that community.

He coached Little League Football in Rose Park for several years. He was involved in Boy Scouts and enjoyed working with all the kids.

Francis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was our rock.

His passion was working in his yard and having the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood.

Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Stamos Webb.

Survived by two daughters, Barbara (Mike Cameron) and Patricia (Larry Miller), two sons, Richard (Laura Webb) and Robert Webb. Six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 S. 300 W., Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E South Temple, Salt Lake City Thursday evening, March 9th, 6-8 pm. Prayer Service at 7 pm.Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City on Friday.
