Edmund Carbine Taylor Jr.

1934 ~ 2014

Our beloved cowboy, Edmund C. Taylor, passed away peacefully with his family close by on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. This last ride in life, he rode with dignity as he waited patiently to join his dear wife Jeneal P. Taylor and now they will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary together.

Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was born in Vernal, Utah on September 3, 1934 to Edmund and Loretta Taylor. While growing up in Salt Lake, he spent a lot of his childhood in Roosevelt with family at the "Shurtliff Hotel" which was owned by his grandmother Mary Beecroft. This is where the cowboy took off at an early age, riding anyone's and everyone's horse until his grandmother bought him his own horse "Dolly".

Ed was a faithful servant of the Lord, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is a graduate of East High School, veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp and served an honorable LDS mission in South Australia. He is known by all for his kind, friendly smile and firm handshake. There is never a place Ed traveled where he did not leave without making a new friend.

Ed loved to dance and wow could he dance!! The dance floor is where he met his sweetheart Jeneal. It was love at first sight and they were married shortly after on Sept. 17, 1959 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together they raised 4 daughters Kari (Stephen) Romney, Tami (Steven) Terp, Juli (David) Eyring, Suzi (Stewart) Olsen.

Ed worked for Rick Warner Ford as one of their top salesmen for many years. He was known as "Big Ed". During this time his reputation had spread near and far for his integrity and hardworking ethics.

Ed loved people and has many life-long friends. He enjoyed animals, especially horses and being in the outdoors. One of his favorite past times was serving his fellow men. He was always willing and ready to help. After retiring, Ed went back to South Australia to serve a second faithful mission with his wife Jeneal.

He is survived by his 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his sister Laraine (Richard) Simpson, and Barney (Miki) Neel who became his son. Preceded in death by his sweetheart Jeneal, his parents, brother Joseph Allen, grandson Taylor James (TJ) Olsen, great granddaughters Ashton Romney, Addyson Hawkes and great grandson Michael Romney.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the personal care given to Dad at Silverado Memory Care and CareSource.
