Bonnie Lantz

1945 ~ 2018

Bonnie Lantz was put on this earth to inspire smiles, laughter, and show her love of people by always wanting to help others. Bonnie was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and helped many families in Salt Lake City. Her favorite job was as an Aunt and Godmother to her nephew and niece. She taught at the School of Social Work at the University of Utah preparing students to succeed in their careers in the field.

She was competitive. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were lifelong favorites, crossword puzzles were always in hand, she loved her bridge tournaments and playing card games. She enjoyed things as simple as teaching board and card games to her niece and nephew, instilling the same competitive nature and regardless of your age, never letting you win - because that's not how real life is! Bonnie was an accomplished musician and vocalist in many choirs when she first came to Utah. She enjoyed fine dining and traveling and always made time to send a postcard from her destination to her niece and nephew with her activities, sights she saw, and a bit of information about the location. She was a never-ending sea of knowledge and fun and we were all lucky enough to be close and have the chance to learn so much from her.

She worked in the Child Welfare Services in Salt Lake City for many years. She loved the arts, singing in the Sanctuary Choir at Wasatch Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted volunteer with the Family Promise Program that benefits homeless families. She was an Elder at her church for many years and was a charter member of the preschool board.
