David Craig Nordgren

1956 ~ 2015

David Nordgren, our \"Special Angel\", passed to the other side of the veil on Monday, April 27, 2015. David was born July 3, 1956, in Richfield, Utah, the fifth of six children of Jason V. and Beth White Nordgren. He maintained his child like purity throughout his life.

At the tender age of five or six, David moved to American Fork Training School where his needs could be met. Later he lived in the Salt Lake area in several different group homes with roommates he became close to. David loved spending money he earned at his day project as well as many dollars he conned from his mom and other family members. Shopping trips were a favorite.

People loved David wherever he went. His family and caregivers adored him with his jovial, outgoing personality and affectionate ways. He had a sense of humor and knew how to have fun.

Santa Claus was David\s idol. In later years he grew a beard so he would look more like Santa. When asked why he had a beard, he would call out \"Ho, ho, ho.\" Christmas was his favorite holiday.

David loved his family. He especially had a tenderness for his mother. Whenever someone came to visit David, he had to make introductions all around between family members and caregivers. David loved to hold babies and small children.

David is survived by his mother Beth Nordgren (age 95); siblings: Ron (Ruthmary) Nordgren, Linda (Bob) Winget, Kathy (Bruce) Peterson, Joyce (Mark) Christensen, and Lisa (Jim) Hanson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jason Nordgren.

The family wishes to offer thanks to David\s caregivers at Danville, F.T.C., and Project Turn. Thank you also to Tonie Michelle Hanaazbaa, David\s case worker.
