Ethel Deon Duggins Hansen, 87, passed away on March 8, 2018, in Lindon, Utah. Deon was born October 6, 1930 to Wesley and Helen Duggins in Gunnison, Utah. She married her Norwegian sweetheart, Jan Fredrik Hansen on Nov. 12, 1949. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1963. Deon\s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Deon was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings through the years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her husband, Jan Fredrik, 2 sons and 5 daughters, Annette (George) Osmond, Wesley (Clara) Hansen, Ted (Linda) Hansen, CindyLou (Wayne) Guymon, Melanie (Dave) Christensen, Jane (Tracey) Hansen, KayLynn (Scott) Blake, 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and her sister, Jerrolyn Prince. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Audrey Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Forestview Ward Chapel, 1111 Charlton Avenue, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery. Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
