Kathryn (Kassie) Platt Watson

1951 ~ 2019

Born in Murray Utah March 10, 1951 at 3:14am. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2019 at 2:44pm.

Kassie's love for her Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ will forever be an example to us and the gift of the Holy Ghost was with her constantly. Kassie's greatest calling was that of motherhood, she viewed it as a solemn responsibility and never wavered from it. Kassie's children Angela (Chris) Ryan, Anissa (deceased), Ashley (Dallas); Grandchildren: Taylor (BreeAnne), Alex, Jordyn (AJ), Marissa, Bailey, Halley, Aidan, Ryder, Dillion, Cade, Reece, Pierce. Great grandchildren: Averie, Nash, Marley, Timber, Chevy, Auzzy, Hendrix. Kassie met the love of her life Brent at Granite High School in 1968 and after a few distractions they were married on December 22, 1972. There are not words on this earth that can explain the love she shared with her "B" and she waits (like always) for him. Kassie is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served at times as home making director, Sunday school teacher, in the nursery and anything she was asked. Kassie was PTA president, Den mother, and friend to all especially the youth. Disneyland was a passion and she had an annual pass so she could go as often as her health permitted (what a thrill to listen to her sing Pirates or small world). How can we ever explain the decorating talent Kassie had, her home is a place of beauty that people would say should be pictured in magazines. To know Kassie is to have known an angel on earth with physical and spiritual countenance unequaled. Kassie passed through the veil to meet her Anissa and will do the work before her until she unites with "B" and all who come.

There was a part of Kassie's life that few knew the true depth of, she had PTSD due to severe abuse as a child from a family that was supposed to take care and nurture her yet chose not to, this was a crime and should have never happened. Kassie found help and through 22 years of therapy was able to manage living but all the while it took its toll on her body until she could hold on no more. Kassie broke the chain of child abuse and afforded her children the life taken from her she was an advocate of the child.

We want to thank those who had the blessing of helping Kassie through her journey of life especially Rod Johnson. Please take the time to hug those you love they might not be with you tomorrow.

Funeral for family and friends will be on Friday, January 11th at 2:00 PM with a viewing from 1:00 to 1:45 PM all at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy.
