Phillip A. Alf

Phillip A. Alf, age 79, Nov 19, 1937 to Nov 27, 2016, passed away in Palm Springs, California. Son of Kenneth R. Alf and Viola Callaham Alf. Married to Katherine McAndrews in Federal Way, Washington, Nov 14, 1958.

He was very health conscientious and worked out his whole adult life and he loved personally training others. He had just acquired his seventh degree black belt in kempo karate. His other passions were horses (yes, he was a cowboy), music and singing. He was very successful in the health and life insurance industry. He was a general agent for Monarch Life Insurance Company in San Diego, California and later opened his own general agency in Seattle, Washington. His goal was to retire at the age of 40 and live "in the lifestyle in which I have grown accustomed to", and he did. He wanted to write a book, and he did; \"The Magic Power Of Making Money\" by Phillip Arnold Alf. He was driven and he accomplished what he set out to do. Phillip is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survived by his wife Katherine: son, Steven (Tina): daughters, D. Renee Mikkelson and Darla M. Baty: nine grandchildren; Tyrone, Shawn, Justin, Kristin, Amber, Alisa, Katie, Alex and Jackson-and many great grandchildren who all love him and will miss him dearly.

Preceded in death by everyone else in his family except for his baby sister Sylvia Kirkpatrick.

Visitation will be held Monday December 5, 2016 from 11am to 11:30am with services to follow in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). Graveside service will be held at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please spend time with your loved ones.
