Marjorie Ellen Kirk Braden

1931 ~ 2019

Our beautiful mother and matriarch, Marge Braden, passed away peacefully on November 12th, surrounded by family. She was reunited with her husband, Zed, and daughter, Lori Ellen along with all those who had gone before.

Mom was born on January 8, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Zedic W. Braden on August 11, 1950 in the Manti Temple. Marge has 8 children; Donald Braden (Utah), Catherine Braden (Florida), Martin Braden (Kathleen; Utah), Lori Ellen (deceased), Cheri Hendry (Chad; Utah), Leanna Crocco (Robbie; Nevada), Trina Cotterman (Brian; Utah), Karianne Parkinson (Steve; Utah); she has 34 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Zed; her parents and one of her siblings.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life and loved serving in all the many positions she held. Her passion was genealogy and temple work.

Upon graduating from Boise High School in Boise, Idaho, she was married at 19, raised her children with Zed in Boise, Idaho for 38 years. In 1983 they moved to Utah and lived in Utah until 2010. She moved to Reno, Nevada 2010 through 2019, she returned to Utah to be around family and loved ones.

She loved her independence in her last days, where she enjoyed all her many friends, community and staff at Solstice Independent Senior Living Center, Sandy Utah.

She worked in several executive secretary positions, and then worked alongside her husband in the mortgage industry.

She was a member of The Daughters of The Utah Pioneers and held many leadership positions in Utah and Nevada chapters. Her love of temple and genealogy work will forever bless her posterity. She enjoyed singing in ward choirs and with her family. She had many talents that included crocheting, scrapbooking, ceramics, along with playing cards and enjoying crafts with her daughters and friends.

She was a great example of love, faith, hope, patience, service and charity. She taught her family to love and live the teachings of Jesus Christ and exemplified these traits through service and showed everyone what it meant to minister. She lived her life in total faith with her favorite scripture; D & C 130:20-21 "There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated and when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated."

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 16th at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 East, Sandy, Utah; viewing one hour prior where family and friends can gather to visit; Interment will follow. Guestbook to post messages for the family available; www.larkinmortuary.com
