Esther Josephine Fassio Tibolla

1920 ~ 2014

Esther Josephine Fassio Tibolla passed away peacefully Nov. 22, 2014 at Wentworth Assisted Living Facility.

Esther was an extraordinary homemaker.Born in Bingham Canyon on Nov. 17, 1920 to John and Maria Fassio. She grew up in Hiawatha, and Taylorsville, Utah, she learned from hard working Italian parents, and six siblings the work ethic that she relied upon throughout her life.

She received her diploma from Granite High School, and then graduated from Henager Business School in Salt Lake City.

Esther married Joe Tibolla on Oct. 3, 1943 and accompanied her Army Lieutenant husband to Georgia where he was stationed during WWII. She worked a variety of jobs, while he trained. When Joe was stationed in Korea, Esther came back to Utah to live with family until their first child was born.

After the end of WWII the University of Utah became their home. Upon Joe\s graduation from mining school, they moved to Lark, Utah in 1949 where their other two sons were born, and in 1960 Esther went to work for US Mining until she and Joe were transferred to Silver City, New Mexico, in 1971.

Esther enjoyed their more than 25 years in southern New Mexico before retirement and their eventual return to Utah in 1998.

She was a world class cook her special dishes (gnocchi and Ravioli), an accomplished painter and seamstress. She loved dancing--round, square, and ballroom. Esther lovingly taught her grandchildren to cook, play cards, and to enjoy their surroundings.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Joe. She is survived by her sister Lucy Tibolla, sons David (Linda) of Shelby, Texas, Tim (Carol) of West Jordan, Utah and Jeff (Sara) of South Jordan, Utah, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

The family would like to extend much thanks to all the folks at Wentworth Assist Living Facility for the loving care they gave Mom and also special thanks to Alissa and Tender Care Hospice.

There will be a celebration of Esther's Life at a later date.
