I wanted to start off by saying I am so sorry for your loss. I could only imagine how tough this has been for your family. I wish you guys the best and will be praying for you guys. Vi was such a kind, funny and hardworking individual. He was so kind to take time out of his busy schedule to hang out. I only knew Vi for a month, but during that time I really enjoyed getting to know him. We hung out a few times. First time we hung out we got coffee, second time we went to a car meet and he educated me on all the cars we saw. The third time, I went over to his house and we worked on his Audi a little and I got to meet his cat Jaida. He had such a contagious laugh and always seemed to light up the room. He will be deeply missed!

Obituary
Vi-Thien Ha, 30, of Kearns, UT, (formerly of London, KY; El Paso, TX; Cypress, CA; Houston, TX) died and was recovered from Lake Powell on June 27, 2026. He was born in Houston, Texas to his father Chuong Cam Ha and mother Mai Nguyen. He attended Cypress High School in California before going on to join the army as a Private First Class with his primary specialty being Intelligence Analyst. During his tenure in the army, he received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. Following his honorable discharge, he expanded into crypto-currency and real estate. He loved collecting cars, boating on a clear day with his cat sidekick, and teasing his sister and niece with jokes that only he laughed at (and complaining about gaining weight every time he visited). He laughed loud, loved deeply, and believed strongly in his niece eating a freshly grilled steak (by him) immediately. He and his niece both enjoy plain, white rice as a full meal to the bewilderment of everyone else around them.
He was preceded in death by his father Chuong Cam Ha and is survived by his mother Mai Nguyen, his sister Mai-Anh Ha, and his niece Tuyet-Mai Alia. His witness cremation was attended by his sister Mai-Anh Ha, half-sister Anh-Thi Ha, and maternal uncle Hiep-Son Nguyen on Wednesday, July 15 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, Salt Lake City, UT. His altar (bàn thờ) at his sister’s home is ready for his spirit to visit, because he is beloved forever in whatever form he should take.
