Obituary
June 26, 2026
Vicki Lynn Haskell Lloyd, 64, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, ready to serve her next mission in the world of spirits, there greeted by her father, her twin grandsons, her grandparents, and many whom she has served while here with us on this side of the veil. Her entire family, sons and daughters, and 13 grandchildren gathered together to surround her and give her a grand send off during the week prior to her passing as she passed on from us onto her next opportunity. Vicki was diagnosed just 7 weeks ago with a Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor that took her quickly. We are so grateful she was able to leave quickly instead of lingering too long in pain and frustration with her mental and physical limitations.
Vicki was born on February 23, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kathryn Lee Hawkley Haskell and Roy Haskell. She was their third child, and third daughter. Vicki had a special bond and relationship with her mother that developed in her later years into traveling companions. They took many trips together, enjoying each other’s company to many destinations, near and far.
Vicki was blessed to grow up in a loving and faith filled home where she was taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ from her earliest of days. That foundation of faith and her love of the Savior, and her knowledge of a much larger grand plan has carried her through many different and sometimes difficult experiences in this life. She never waivered.
Vicki faithfully served in many different callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She was most fond of the 6 years she and Steve spent serving a mission together as Addiction Recovery Missionaries at the Utah State Prison working with female inmates. Vicki truly blossomed very quickly in this calling as she used her natural ability for unconditional love to reach into the hearts of many of God’s children, whom He loves equally with us, to build trust with them and help them to re-kindle a relationship with their Heavenly Father. Many of these choice spirits who have suffered hard things in their lives, found love and peace through Vicki’s love for them and her constant tutoring and encouragement. She was truly a master at loving them. And they reciprocated that love for her. Many of them were absolutely heartbroken to learn of Vicki’s illness. She will continue to be with them as she now works from the other side of the veil to help them and guide them.
Vicki married Steven B. Lloyd on July 16, 1982 in the Salt Lake Temple just 4 months after he returned home from his mission, thus fulfilling one of Vicki’s life goals to marry a returned missionary in the temple. From that union, Vicki and Steve welcomed 6 amazing children into their lives. Later came a total of 15 grandkids, which have become the absolute joy of Vicki’s life. One of her fondest memories was when all of her children and grandchildren surprised her in Disneyland to celebrate her 60th birthday. It was a surprise party that her children pulled off perfectly! She had no idea we were all going to be there. It was such a great week together as a family. This was one of many family trips we enjoyed together, which was truly where Vicki found the most joy, just being together as a family. Location never really mattered much to Vicki, it was just being together as one big family, this is where she felt most at home, family togetherness.
Vicki is survived by her husband Steve, her children, Stephanie Hansen, Michael Lloyd (Christine), Lisa Ransom, Jessica Aurich (Jason), Andrew Lloyd (McKenzie), and Brandon Lloyd (Heidi). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, her mother Lee Haskell, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Haskell, her twin grandsons Matthew and Parker, her grandparents, and an amazing ancestry.
Funeral arrangements will be provided by Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, where Vicki will be laid to rest. Her funeral services will be officiated by Bishop Brian Swanson, and held Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11AM in the Sandy Crescent Ridge 4th Ward chapel located at 11000 S 1300 E in Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 10:45AM prior to the funeral services. A viewing the evening prior to the funeral will be held on Monday Evening July 6, 2026 from 6 – 8PM at the same location. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Sandy, Utah.
We express our sincere thanks and gratitude for the many, many family, friends, and neighbors who have provided so many acts of service for Vicki and her family as she has gone through these past several difficult weeks. We are so thankful for the Huntsman Cancer Institute family of healthcare providers for their incredible service and care given Vicki all through her cancer journey. Truly we have been watched over and blessed by so, so many. We love you! All is Well!
