Vickie Linn Vanfleet Cates returned home to her Heavenly Father on January 5th, 2023, in Magna, Utah. She was born August 9th,1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Willard Bay Vanfleet and Doris Leona Shegoge. She married her Love Willy (Willian Cates) on July 7th, 1978.
She lived life to the fullest and she had the biggest heart. She was never too busy to play a joke or be mischievous. Vickie was always crafting, Tatting or painting. She always had a paintbrush or pen in her hand. Most of all she loved playing her Banjos and Guitars. She spent many years running with Willy and traveling all over the state to races. She was devoted to her family and everyone's happiness. She had many animals and just loved being around them.
Vickie Survived by her husband Willy (William Cates), 3 Daughters Mandy (Richard) Brown, Melissa Cates, Lindsay (Ryan ) Zumwalt and 20 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Sisters and 1 Grandchild.

I’m so sorry- she was a great person. I loved to sit outside in front of her and Bill’s house or on the back porch talking to her. Her gifts she gave me that she made were all special and cute. I’m glad she’s not in pain anymore.

My dear friend has left this life and I feel sad that we weren't able to get together one last time. I have thought of her often this past year. Even dreamt of her. I can only imagine the loss that her family feels. She has the sweetest, kindest and most thoughtful spirit of anyone I have known. I am sure she will be looking after her loved ones from the other side. I love you Vickie. 💕
