Victoria Simonetti Bartlett passed away on 12/3/2023 at the age of 109. She was born on 11/9/1914 in Helper, UT, second oldest of seven children born to Joseph and Angelina Simonetti, who were born in Italy and immigrated to America through Ellis Island in 1914. Victoria married Maurice Bartlett on 9/4/1937. Victoria and Maurice had two children, Gordon Bartlett and Jolene Bartlett Rasmussen. Maurice preceded her in death on 1/1/1945.
Victoria was a spunky Italian who loved to play golf with her daughter and grandsons Tad, Shane and Kyle, as well as watching them at their ski racing events. She would walk up the snowy mountain to gain a great viewing area to see them make their ski runs down the mountain, even though she didn't ski. Jolene's family loved to go camping/boating and Victoria always loved to join them. She enjoyed taking her only granddaughter, Lisa, downtown shopping at ZCMl and picking up some great saltwater taffy. Her son Gordon had a cabin in Manila, near Flaming Gorge, which she also enjoyed visiting. She loved to go dancing, with her sisters, at The Great Saltair Pavilion when she was young. Victoria loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and loved having them around her. She said that the two most important things to longevity are to keep moving and eat healthy. She walked or took the bus everywhere she went, as she never learned to drive.
She is survived by her children Gordon and Jolene and grandchildren Kyle Rasmussen, Lisa Bartlett and Jason Bartlett. Great grandchildren Andrew Rasmussen (Lauren), Aaron Rasmussen, Alivia Matchett (Chad Greaves), Connor Rasmussen (Kynzie), Marissa Rasmussen, Rachel Rasmussen, Reanna Rasmussen, Jovi Scholl and Mason Cowie, Jaxon Bartlett and great granddaughter Peggy Jolene Rasmussen. She was sadly preceded in death by grandsons Tad and Shane Rasmussen, as well as her sisters Mary, Elena, Josephine, Iola and brothers Frank, Peter and her parents Joseph and Angelina Simonetti.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple) with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 pm at Salt Lake City Cemetery (200 "N" st).
