Vivian Peterson Taylor

1936 ~ 2023

Vivan Peterson Taylor was born on July 21, 1936 in Lyman, Utah to Harold Wendell and Eva Pearl White Peterson. She passed quietly in her home surrounded by her family on June 1, 2023.

She married her sweetheart Dewey Voy Taylor on August 20, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were devoted to each other for over 70 years. They were blessed with seven children: VeeAnn (Mitchel) Pace, Rodney (Tracy) Taylor, Boyd (Janet) Taylor, Sabrina (Randy) Erickson, Tina Yee, Dwight (Marci) Taylor and Gina (Don) Anderson. They have 28 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great grandchildren.
She was raised in a strong family environment and had great love for her siblings; Grace Florence, Harold Dean, Boyd White, Dallas Henry, LaFonda, and Wendell Ray.

Vivian’s priority in life was loving and serving her family. She loved and raised her seven children and also provided a loving daycare for many of her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many church callings. She enjoyed interior decorating and had a great talent for it. She was an amazing seamstress. She made school clothes and prom dresses and her daughters’ wedding dresses. She found an outlet for her love of clothing design by creating and sewing barbie doll clothes. She was also an avid quilter and made quilts for all of the family members and many others.

Vivian had many health challenges in her life, but she always kept a smile on her face. Her focus was always on loving and serving her family even during her trials. She was the center of our family and will be deeply missed.

I enjoyed Vivian's friendship for many years and being around her and her sisters while working with them at the Hotel Utah. Later I loved taking her and Lafonda to places for Club. It was an amazing group of ladies that I will always hold dear. I enjoyed getting with them and we all looked forward to our Club Outings etc. Vivian will always have a place in my heart. I love you and will miss you.
