  • Von Tallon Olsen, age 59, passed away on August 9, 2021. He was born May 14, 1962 to his parents Rebecca Ann Tallon Olsen and Von Roy Olsen.

Tallon lived a very arbitrary life. He did everything with immense excitement and pride. Right out of high school he joined The United States Marine Corps, initiating some of the most profound years of his life. You couldn’t have a conversation with him without him talking about his time in the Marines.

Tallon was a very beloved story teller and creator. Every year his kids would win Halloween costume contests because he put so much detail and enjoyment in to every piece he made. His studio is filled with all of his projects; intricate hand-made wood pieces, paper models, customized G.I. Joes and small-scale items for model towns. He taught his kids all of his artistic ways, and they still carry those talents with them into their adult lives.

Among his many talents and quirks, he was also full of insight, guidance, and astounding intelligence. He was a devoted arachnid-culturist. So much so, that he published a book about raising spiders and their unseen elegance and importance. He was also a huge history buff and was very in tune with his spiritual side, which provided a lot of peace through the struggles he would face with his health.

Most of all though, Tallon was a fighter and a lover of life. He made sure that every person he knew understood how much he cared for them and how important they were in his life. His love of life carried him through the hardest days. There was never a moment that he wasn’t grateful for his blessings, and he expressed it in the most beautiful ways. His presence and light will be missed immensely, but always honored and always remembered fondly.

Tallon is proceeded in death by his father Von Roy Olsen, younger brother Michael Von Olsen, the mother of his eldest son Jude Rae Smith, his beloved wife Alyson Ann Peterson, and his eldest son Brandon Lee Allsop.

Tallon is survived by his mother Rebecca Ann Tallon Dixon, his sisters Cindy Sue Olsen Cook, Rebecca Lynne Olsen Harris, his life partner Tammy Lee Sholes, his children Monique Smith and Derik Tallon Olsen and his ten beautiful grandchildren.

Family and close friends are invited to a combined service for Tallon and Brandon. It will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Lawn (2350 East 1300 South). A private family viewing will be held at 1pm. The family wishes to keep the services intimate. General services will begin at 2pm. Services will be held indoors, so masks will be required.

    Guestbook/Condolences

I am truly saddened to learn that Tallon 'Tally' has passed away. It goes without saying that this is way too soon. I had the pleasure to have Tally as a brother in-law for several years. I will never forget his creative and artistic talent along with his great eye for detail and the level of concentration he had when working on a project. I think the greater beauty about Talley that I remember is; he was full of passion. He was very passionate about life, he was passionate about his beliefs and most of all he was passionate about the strong love he held for his family. Those are the things that come to mind now and will always come to mind when I think about Tally. I want his to family to know that I am thinking of them and I know this has to be an extremely difficult time for them and I send my sincerest love.
