Norma Mros Martineau

1932 ~ 2013

Norma Mros Martineau, surrounded by family, departed this life unexpectedly on July 21, 2013. Wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Norma was devoted to her family and dedicated her life to motherhood.

Norma was born on November 13, 1932 to Fred and Esther Mros. She graduated from Granite High School and married Louis E Martineau on August 24, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her early-married years were spent on Air Force bases with a brief separation from her new husband while he served in the Korean War. Settling in Salt Lake City, Norma and Louis were blessed with four children and she became an energetic and talented mother, enjoying teaching and raising her children. As the children, grew, married and had children of their own, Norma instantly and easily adjusted to life as a grandmother. She had a great love and concern for each grandchild and great-grandchild, showing much appreciated individual attention and encouragement.

Known for her outstanding homemaking skills, she loved to have family over for dinnerand was always running fabric through the sewing machine lovingly creating handmade treasures. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her life was filled with service to family, friends and neighbors.

Norma is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Louis E Martineau, their four children: Lisa (Ron) Stephens, Chris (Sherrie) Martineau, Julie (Rob) Fisher and Kirk (Karen) Martineau, by her sister Arline Wright and by her 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27th at 1:00 PM at the Willow Creek 4th Ward, 2400 E Creek Road, Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary/Cemetery, 1950 E 10600 South, Sandy, Utah, and again at the ward on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. ‚ 12:45 P.M. prior to the services.
