Bettie M. Spencer Roberts Taylor

Bettie M. Roberts Taylor died on March 25, 2018 of causes incident to age. Bettie was born on January 8, 1925 to Alton L. and Ida V. (Racker) Spencer in Lehi, UT. Graduate of South High School. She married Darwin R. Roberts on November 28, 1942 in Evanston, WY. They resided in S.L.C. Later, divorced. Bettie married Kenneth P. Taylor in 1973 in Guadalajara, MEX. Ken's occupation as industrial specialist with the U.S. Gov. took them to Union City, CA where Bettie worked in the Oakland/San Francisco offices of Safeway. Upon returning to UT, they settled in Layton where Bettie worked for a short time with the IRS.

During her career, she also worked in the offices of Auerbachs, Skaggs, and Kennecott Copper as an Administrative Assistant.

Bettie is survived by her daughter Dianne R. Hayden, SL, Dianne's friend and companion Lance Ockey, her son Douglas A. (Valerie) Roberts, Herriman, step-children Debra Wright, Kaysville, and Bruce Taylor, Glendale, AZ, sister A. Dawn Gooden, Paradise, CA, 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, husband Kenneth, brother Jack Earl Spencer and wife Dolly, dear friend Frank Jones, and special loving friend and companion Robert Hill.

Kenneth and Bettie learned, lived, and loved square dancing and round dancing and were members of the UT Round Dancing Assoc. They met and made many life-long friends while enjoying these activities.

Bettie and Kenneth loved traveling and remained active all their lives. Bettie volunteered at Autumn Glow Senior Center in Kaysville. She participated in aerobics and yoga and loved walking.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC. Friends and family may call Monday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at: www.larkincares.com.
