Jena Lou Burt

1927 ~ 2016

Our loving and sweet Aunt Jena passed away peacefully on the evening of Easter Sunday, March 27th, 2016, on the 5th anniversary of her beloved husband's passing, our dear Uncle Cork. They were married for 65 years.

Aunt Jena discovered early in her life that she was unable to bear children, and so she became a mother to all her nieces and nephews, and a grandmother to all her great nieces and great nephews. She gave so much unconditional love to everyone, and opened her home for all to share. Our Aunt Jena never forgot a birthday, Christmas, Easter, or Valentine's and spent much of her time writing and sending cards to friends and family during those special occasions.

Aunt Jena was very devoted to her faith, religion and community. She rarely missed her Sundays at church, always paid her tithing, and volunteered in community services—including the Neighborhood Watch. Aunt Jena loved to read mystery books, watch Lifetime movies, attend her monthly Stouffers Club dinners and travel around the world with her loving Cork. Aunt Jena had many hobbies, but her true passion in life was to care for and spend time with her family. We are forever grateful for the unwavering gift of love that she gave us all. We love you, Aunt Jena. Until we meet again.
