Charlotte Gayle Fritz Banyai

1937 ~ 2016

Charlotte Gayle Fritz Banyai passed away on January 29, 2016 in her home with her family by her side.

Gayle was born on July 14, 1937 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Vernon and Dorothy (Telford) Fritz. She grew up on her family ranch northwest of Belfield, North Dakota. She graduated from Belfield High School and Dickinson State University. On July 27, 1957 she married Jacob Banyai. They had 58 wonderful years together in North Dakota, Montana, Oklahoma, and Utah (the last 38 years in Salt Lake City).

She taught elementary school for two years and then stayed at home to raise her family. She was later employed at Brown Floral as a designer and buyer.

Gayle was a positive inspiration to everyone she met. Gayle enjoyed her life, her friends and traveling. She was a member of the Eta Zeta (now Xi Zeta Lambda) Sorority and the Red Hat Club. She loved being outdoors and taking care of her yard and her flower pots. She also loved taking photographs and creating albums. She enjoyed Department 56 Villages, Christmas (and all holidays), hummingbirds, cardinals and the color red. But most of all, she adored her husband, children, grandchildren, sister (and best friend) and her very large extended family.

Gayle is survived by her husband Jacob, daughter Jenifer Ewoniuk (Danny Egbert), three sons: Greg (Teresa), Clay (Stacy), and Brad (Nicole), nine grandchildren: Dusty, Alex, Jake, Jessi, Casey, Kaley, Erik, Robby, and Michael, sister Linda Walter (Mike Lopez) and nephews: Randy and Jeremy.

Preceded in death by her parents and nephew Wiley Walter.

Special thanks to Millcreek Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Rebecca Moore at St. Marks Senior Health Center.
