Saundra Belle Mitchell Tripp

1938 ~ 2017

Our beautiful wife, mother and grandmother Saundra Belle Mitchell Tripp passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and family by her side on September 3, 2017, after her courageous battle against Alzheimer's. Mom's time on earth was spent spreading love to everyone she came in contact with. When her name is mentioned the first thing most people will express is "I LOVE Saundra". Saundra was born on March 26, 1938 in Los Angeles, the 3rd child of 4 children born to Rex Mitchell and Hyacinth Haun. Mom had many accomplishments in her life. Her first priority was always her family. Dad was the love of her life, they were constant companions, always by each other's side, no matter what adventure they were pursuing. Each child and grandchild knew how much she loved and supported them. Mom's love spread through her many church callings. She was dedicated and loyal to her testimony and belief in serving her Lord. Mom treasured the time she spent serving at the Jordan River Temple and the Draper Temple. Mom had many other loves such as quilting, gardening and sewing to name a few. She was honored to be president of the Utah Quilt Guild and of four local quilt chapters.

Mom's legacy of love for her family, church and quilts will live on forever. We believe that she had a glorious greeting from her two grandsons who preceded her in death, Steven Carter and Ryker Fox along with her parents, two brothers and dad's family.

Survived by husband Keith L. Tripp, children: Scott L. Nichols, Chet R. Nichols (Patty), Tracy Tripp (Sarah), Jackie Tripp (Robert), Jody Carter (Bill), and Lori Fox, her 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and sister Rexene Mitchell Walje.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Steeplechase Chapel, 13350 South 1750 East Aintree Avenue, Draper. Viewings will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy and on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
